Pierre Cheung

SVP & GM Asia at ViacomCBS Networks International

Cheung is responsible for the management and operations of the company’s business in Asia (Greater China, Korea, Japan and Southeast Asia), including digital media, programme sales, consumer products, recreation and ancillary IP licensing and co-production. He is focused particularly on new opportunities and aligning operations between markets while leveraging cluster synergies. He also leads the charge for the company’s VIS (Viacom International Studios) business in Asia to drive local content creation.

Quark Henares

Head of Globe Studios

Quark Henares is a multi-awarded filmmaker known for having written and directed feature films such as My Candidate, Rakenrol, and Keka. He also created the cult TV series Rakista for TV5 and has helmed music videos for everyone from Gary V. to Sandwich to Taken by Cars.

Jennifer Jao

Director of the Taipei Film Commission

Jennifer Jao has worked in Central Motion Picture Corporation and participated in film planning, production, promotion, marketing and purchase. In 2007, she produced Rail Truck, a Taiwan-Japan co-production. Since 2008, she is Director of Taipei Film Commission (TFC), promoting Taiwanese cinema by assisting in shooting, production, domestic and international marketing and promotion, etc. In 2013 and 2014 consecutively, she took part in the planning and production of Taipei Factory I and Taipei Factory II, materializing Taiwan's cooperation with France and Italy respectively.

Michael Leow

Partner at Haldanes Solicitors & Notaries

Michael is a corporate commercial lawyer with a focus on media and entertainment. He is currently a partner with Haldanes in Hong Kong and a counsel with Gateway Law Corporation in Singapore. Although based in HK and Singapore, Michael is one of the few successful entertainment lawyers in the Asia Pacific Region advising on international transactions and entertainment related issues. Some of the projects Michael has been involved in include Red Cliff, Curse of the Golden Flower, and Cloud Atlas. Michael has also taken on associate producer roles on some film projects including Au Revoir Taipei (Taiwan), Revenge of the Pontianak” (Singapore) and Suk Suk (Hong Kong). From 2014 to 2018, Michael was an honorary member of the Singapore Film Commission’s Advisory Committee. He is also an honorary legal advisor to the Hong Kong Asia Film Financing Forum (HAF).

Jay Lin

CEO of Portico Media & GagaOOLala

Jay Lin is the founder of Portico Media, a media powerhouse in Taiwan distributing linear channels and programs of NBCU Comcast, A&E, Viacom CBS, and other global media brands. He is also the founder of HahaTai, one of the most popular social media channels in Taiwan as well as GagaOOLala, an OTT streaming service that became the first to go global in May 2020. Jay has been named by Newsweek as one of fifteen of the Best of Creative Class by Newsweek in 2019. He is a consultant to ITRI in media data collection and is a frequent speaker at various media and entertainment-related conferences.

Janine Stein

Editorial Director at ContentAsia

Janine Stein is Editorial Director for ContentAsia's information platforms, including print and online as well as annual conference, the ContentAsia Summit, and the annual ContentAsia Awards. She has covered the Asian television and media business since 1989, and has worked for, among others, The Hollywood Reporter (U.S.), the South China Morning Post/Television & Entertainment Times (Hong Kong), Variety, Cable & Satellite Asia (FT Business), Television Business International (TBI, U.K.) and Electronic Media (U.S.). Prior to 1989, she covered the African television industry for five years. Among other roles, she was TV Editor for an English-language national daily and a correspondent for industry magazine, Southern Screen & Stage, out of Johannesburg. Janine ran the Singapore chapter of Women Media Networks Asia until 2005, and currently organises women's events under the banner of ContentAsia Women.

Indra Suharjono

Senior Media Advisor at JKN Global Media

Suharjono is a Senior Media Advisor to Thailand's JKN Global Media PLC since 2019, with a remit to drive Thai drama distribution globally and to strike partnerships for JKN Originals in Thailand and the region. Prior to JKN, she led Taiwan’s Next Animation Studio (NAS) as CEO for three years. In her 32 years in Asia’s media and entertainment industry, she has spent a decade with Viacom International Media Networks Asia in various roles. These included EVP and MD, Asia. Indra also spent 12 years at TimeWarner (WarnerMedia) in Asia, holding senior management positions with Warner Bros. Pictures Int’l., Warner Bros. Consumer Products and with Turner Entertainment Networks Asia. Indra also sits on the board of Cathay Organisation Holdings.

Lorna Tee

Film Producer and Head of the IFFAM

Lorna Tee is a pan-Asian film producer and also a film festival organizer, dividing her time between Asia and Europe. She has worked for Focus Films (Hong Kong), Variety (USA), Irresistible Films (Hong Kong/ Japan), and Berlinale, CinemAsia Film Festival & was the founder/ Head of Festival Management for the International Film Festival & Awards Macao. Selected filmography includes The Beautiful Washing Machine, Rain Dogs, Crazy Stone, Love Story, My Mother is a Bellydancer, The Shoe Fairy, At the End of Daybreak, Lover’s Discourse, Come Rain, Come Shine, Postcards from the Zoo and Mrs K. She is developing film projects in Asia with her production company Paperheart, mentors/ lectures with film training programmes/ labs and consulting with various international film institutions and film funds.
